We sold everything and hit the road. Places to see while we still can, while we have no grandchildren, while we have not yet married our doctors (dating, yes; heavy petting, certainly), while we have physical strength and mental fortitude, while our spirits still sing. We call it Retiremoon.

This began as our way to stay connected, like Facebook in your inbox but without the ads, screaming political junkies, or anything from those high school friends you haven't seen in 40 years (with apologies to my high school friends I haven't seen in 40 years).

But it has evolved into an almost four-year meditation on place, culture, purpose, aging, and whimsy. These are musings from the road, a road that shows no sign of ending. We have moved beyond being Travelers. Now, we are Expats. And we see things differently.

If you'd like to see where we've been to date, here's a happy little interactive map. You can zoom around as you like. Selecting the nav bars on the left will take you to a list of every stop, and clicking on any segment will reveal an explanation. It's a time waster, but if you are here, I assume you have some time to spend.
